Wet firewood is the reason most backyard fires end up more smoke than flame. Ours is seasoned — split and air-dried for months before it's sold — so the moisture content is low enough to catch fast and burn hot instead of hissing and smoldering.
It's mostly hardwood we've taken down or split from local removal jobs: oak, maple, that kind of mix. We cut to a standard length that fits most fireplaces and wood stoves, and split it to a size that's easy to stack and easy to load.
